  • Abstract

Kähler groups form an interesting class of finitely presented groups. In this talk I will present some results about Kähler groups that admit as a normal subgroup a finitely generated group acting on a tree. We will be interested in the following two questions: under which conditions does the action extend to the Kähler group? and, what can be said about the Kähler group in this case? I will focus on some particular situations where we can answer the first question and we will use a result of Gromov and Schoen about Kähler groups acting on trees to give an answer to the second one. At the end of the talk I will give some examples of groups acting on trees that cannot embed as a normal subgroup into a Kähler group.
