C^0 local rigidity of boundary actions by higher rank lattices (part I)

  • We present our key result of $C^0$ local rigidity, up to semi-conjugacy, for the generalized projective actions of higher rank uniform lattices on their boundary G/Q for an arbitrary parabolic subgroup Q. In this talk we will focus on explaining some of the geometric tools that go into the proof that are specific to higher rank actions. This is joint work with Mitul Islam, Thang Nguyen and Ralf Spatzier.
