  • Abstract: The word problem for a finitely generated group is the set of all (freely reduced) words which spell out the trivial element. The cogrowth series is then the generating function which counts the number of words in the word problem of given lengths. In this talk, we show that a certain class of groups have cogrowth series which can be characterised as the diagonal of a rational.
