    The course provides an introduction to the non-commutative algebra of group rings. The analytic aspect concerns the introduction of certain localizations of groups defined by functional-analytic tools. The motivation to study those rings comes from group theory and topology. We study some famous conjectures about group rings which are a gateway into current research.
