  • Abstract: Given a group homomorphism φ: G → A, the Σ-invariant (or BNS-invariant) gives a geometric interpretation of finite generatedness of ker φ if A is abelian. We are going to investigate how considering orders on G helps in getting an analogous notion if A is nilpotent.
