This is a workshop to bring together master students, PhD students and postdocs, mainly from Karlsruhe, Münster and Regensburg working in geometric group theory and adjacent fields. The goal is to learn about classical and recent developments in profinite groups.

Schedule

The workshop will take place from Monday, 26 August to Wednesday, 28 August 2024, around noon, at KIT in Karlsruhe. You can find the schedule and directions to the venue here.

Program

The workshop will consist of a mini course by Jonathan Fruchter and talks by the participants. In addition, there will be some time for discussion sessions. In the talks, participants have the opportunity to present some research (not necessarily their own) in the area. Participants who wish to give a talk can find some suggestions here.

Accommodation

There is limited accommodation available, that will be made available for participants. Preference will be given to participants from Münster and Regensburg.
